If you want to lurk on Reddit, you can use this web reader I built for myself when I got inspired by the Apollo app years ago (rdx.overdevs.com)
from overdevs@lemmy.world to technology@lemmy.world on 01 Jul 2023 06:40

You can’t login or anything but it’s good for viewing posts and media and you can switch subreddits easily by clicking on the page title in the center like Apollo. Also it’s on Github.

Ya, I’m not going back, I wrestled with deleting my content or not for weeks. Decided last night to wipe my history and today I deleted my 12yo account.

Good riddance, not gonna browse in any fashion logged in or not. No clicks from me.

Viewing content does not help Reddit. If anything it hurts them because you’re consuming resources.

Viewing ads on Reddit helps sustain Reddit.

Contributing content to Reddit helps sustain Reddit.

Reddit users have made it very clear that they don’t care about privacy or its authoritarian owners. Asking contributors to post elsewhere, or even to make other platforms available elsewhere is met with hostility. Has been for quite a while. It’s not going anywhere. Might as well use the information there.
