we on lemmy probably know most of the shortcomings, but it’s amazing that more perfect union is making videos about it for laymen as well

Yeah, it’s a very well done vid that mom and pop can understand.

Downvoted for shitty, clickbait title.

I already know that the video is a nothingburger, because if it was something then they would mention it in the title.

Probably just going to be some guy trying to make money off of morons by getting very emotional in all of his arguments and practically begging the audience to agree with him.

More Perfect Union does pretty good videos. Not a guy it’s an org.

+1, I like their videos and they’re very informative.

Another whole hearted agreement here. I’ve been watching their videos for a couple years and especially like their decline of quality clothing video. They provide a down-to-earth, simple explanation for a specific circumstance. And I love that they have a ton of sources, more often than not.

Downvoted for shitty, clickbait comment.

I already know that this comment is a nothingburger, because if it was something then they would have watched the video and have actual critiques.

Probably just going to be some guy trying to make people angry by getting very ignorant in all of his arguments and practically begging the audience to agree with him.

While the title of the video is absolutely clickbait…your generalization of the channel and the video without even watching is not very cool.

This is ancient news, but I still cant believe they ditched lidar. Relying in computer vision alone when you could easily give it more reliable data to work with is just stupid.

bitchkat@lemmy.world on 08 Sep 17:06 collapse

Do you mean radar? Tesla has never used lidar.

OboTheHobo@ttrpg.network on 08 Sep 17:19 collapse

There was debate around whether they should use lidar. I thought I remembered that the initial plan was lidar but that musk dropped it before any actually got into the hands of consumers. I could be wrong though

Doomsider@lemmy.world on 08 Sep 17:06 collapse

A Tesla marketing lie caused people to die. As the video pointed out the real reason they got rid of the extra sensors was to save money at the cost of safety. This is all about greed.

At this point Tesla should be disbanded as an example of what happens when companies disregard safety.

I think it also highlights the absurdity that the stock market has become and how it directly contributes to a culture that allows for human suffering as long as record profits are believed to be around the corner.

SoleInvictus@lemmy.blahaj.zone on 08 Sep 17:56 next collapse

You know what really pisses me off? Some of the newer models have radar built in again (no ultrasound though). Tesla just doesn’t use it.

I don’t even understand what record profits they’re expecting at this point. Their sales numbers are dropping, they’re facing stiffer competition, the carbon credits and ev tax credits which benefited tesla so much are going away, and more of their newer offerings like the cybertruck and the taxi service have been absolute disasters. Somehow the company still enjoys about a $1 trillion market cap.

Doomsider@lemmy.world on 10 Sep 05:46 collapse

It is irrational for sure. The stock should have tanked a long time ago based on performance and future prospects, but it is still high as ever.
