That’s why. The Maine Attorney General’s office is the one putting out the notice so they are just pointing out that they have jurisdiction or whatever the relevant legal term is. In a scenario where the AG had discovered this and found it affected zero (or nearly zero) Maine residents they likely would have forwarded it to another state, possibly making a joint statement.

I suspect if this has legs other states will join in too.
