US with new technology:

To help fight human trafficking? No

To help find abducted children? No

To catch “illegal” brown kids trying to go to school? Hell yeah!

Engineer: I created new technology that can make us rich beyond our wildest dreams because of the number of people it’ll benefit!

Billionaires: Let’s tweak that a little. I’d rather decide who has to be poor

You just know they’re training the AI on people who never had a choice to say no and at the end of the day many of those same people are going to end up being trafficked by ICE or some individual agent anyway. Theres a reason they under report how many people are in their custody.

Thats a hard pass on the child stalker bots.

don@lemm.ee on 26 Aug 2024 18:43 next collapse

No fucking way that could go wrong. Not a fucking chance.

Reverendender@sh.itjust.works on 26 Aug 2024 19:22 next collapse

Even with ALL prior evidence saying it will crash and burn horribly

limonfiesta@lemmy.world on 26 Aug 2024 19:36 collapse

What do you mean go wrong?

All of the “consequences” that would arise from a program like this, are intentional.

umbrella@lemmy.ml on 26 Aug 2024 19:39 next collapse

Google Photos is pretty good at this. My cousin showed me that putting in past pictures of her kids, it tell which one is which. It was creepy how good it was.

potentiallynotfelix@lemdro.id on 27 Aug 2024 03:02 next collapse

Instead of doing this creepy shit, why not make the immigration process easier?

RangerJosie@lemmy.world on 27 Aug 2024 06:48 next collapse

It’s for those dastardly illegal aliens right now. But about 10 minutes after it’s put into action it’ll be for everyone. Citizen or not.

Fedizen@lemmy.world on 27 Aug 2024 08:35 collapse

there’s no valid reason to support this except some dystopian ass shit
