Honestly discord is such a terrible way to organize so much information. It’s replaced forum systems for so many tech things, but searching is awful, the “threads” system doesn’t work anything like a forum thread, it’s all non-indexable so it’s in their walled garden, etc.
Before Reddit killed third party apps it was helpful to use a search engine to specifically search Reddit for real information from discourse between people.
Here’s hoping lemmy can fill that role over time

I fucking hate how a lot of minecraft mods and modpacks only have info on their own discord channels. If I’m having problems, first thing I do is google it. Now that most of it is on Discord? There’s no fucking way of finding the information if you don’t happen to be a member of the right channel.
