Yeah. No. Might as well use a mass spectrometer to separate the elements at that point.

I believe the commenter is trying to say that the method is either ineffective at scale or unlikely to be implemented due to the cost of needing workers to open and separate out the components of recycled batteries by hand.

I wasn’t sure if it was that or if there was an inherent problem with manually disassembling lithium ion batteries, like high likelihood of catastrophic failure?
