It’s always interesting to see how fast they can attribute the attack to russian hackers. Good for them, less embarassing than being hacked by 16 year old anime fans that want to watch next weeks episode today.

Personally I don’t like TeamViewer bc you know…full of scammers (thanks to some YT videos), i prefer either Anydesk or VNC for personal use nowadays

So all TeamViewer apps right now should be considered compromised?
They said it was their corp. networks and not their software but who knows for sure.
Tbh I thought it had been compromised by Russia for the last 10 years.
Not just right now, but since they got hacked in 2016.
Oh crap.
Ok. What’s a good alternative then? It’s for helping my parents and their computers remotely, so it has to be easy to use.
In another thread this was the most recommended rustdesk.com and some mentioned AnyDesk, IIRC
Thanks!
They were last time they got hacked

I heard lots of scammers use AnyDesk now
Rustdesk is kinda nice. Alongside just doing it manually with VNC or RDP/XRDP. NoMachine is also another good one.
