Monster always sucked imo

massive_bereavement@fedia.io on 25 Jun 20:18 collapse

So does linkedin, haven't tried indeed or at least I didn't have to try it yet thankfully.

Linkedin is basically a corporate, Microsoft Facebook. And it’s horrible. I deleted my account years ago.

ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world on 25 Jun 21:19 next collapse

I fucking loath LinkedIn! I don’t go on there much, but every time I do it’s 99% shameless self-promotion using vapid, one-dimensional content that’s wrapped in a thin veneer of motivational speech bullshit.

How do many people can’t see through it (let alone tolerate it) is beyond me. LinkedIn embodies so much of what’s wrong with modern society.

catloaf@lemm.ee on 26 Jun 00:56 collapse

I don’t know anyone that seriously uses it. The only posts I see are corporate PR and LinkedIn “Agree?” lunatics.

Hey they have like 5 games that you can play once a day. Those are kinda fun.

finalarbiter@lemmy.dbzer0.com on 26 Jun 02:52 collapse

I literally log in every day to play them, then log right back out.

I don’t know anyone that isn’t using Indeed or LinkedIn these days.

And both are horrible while being nearly mandatory for job seekers.

Its amazing the things that came out of the tribune that then fall apart once they go off on their own. Haven't seen an apartments.com commercial in awhile. Wonder how they are doing?

catloaf@lemm.ee on 26 Jun 00:57 collapse

I saw one of their Jeff Goldblum ads within the past week, so they’re still airing.

Shit, indeed actually got me a job once, and I’m starting to look again after 8 years.

Ledericas@lemm.ee on 26 Jun 08:13 collapse

same, i however dont subscribe to thier "contact you by recruiters, since you get flooded with indian recruiters of questionable positions, and jobs im not eligible for. unfortunately for the field i was trying to get into, wasnt helping so i found just a regular job in the mean time.

Ledericas@lemm.ee on 26 Jun 08:11 collapse

surprised monster survived this long, thier listings are quite limited in comparison to the larger ones like indeed and glassdoor. indeed used to have a forum section, where you would discussion potential grad certifications to, such as CLS in the west which is notorious difficult to apply to.
