What did these voices sound like, is there audio available somewhere?

I’ve always found automated voices incredibly annoying to listen to, the cadence is always wrong. I’d like to know if the “AI” voices were any different.

Some of the AI generated voices that I’ve heard so far sound almost human and a lot better than like Siri / Alexa / whatever

Yeah, they really are getting good. I use the Eleven Labs app on iOS to listen to articles and long posts.

The OpenAI voices sound fantastic too.

Good to know. I absolutely cannot stand any computer voice I’ve heard so far.

Wow, that lasted a long time. I remember reading the original article a few days ago😆

Did they cover their asses and write down beforhand, it was just an experiment? Otherwise this is just some lame excuse and classic backpedaling.

I’ve listened to stations where it’s all AI. Presenters are AI, song selection is AI, news and whatnot are read by AI. I actually found it less annoying than your typical commercial radio station.

If it’s mostly music and there’s a news segment with an AI reading the news, that sorta thing, I don’t really see a reason to be upset

Those are all jobs a human could have. That’s a reason to be upset if you ask me.

Kusimulkku@lemm.ee on 31 Oct 16:44 collapse

I wouldn’t listen to the station if it was your normal commercial channel presenters. I can’t stand that shit.
